Privacy and Cookie Policy (the "Policy")

Petroleum Edge Limited ("Petroleum Edge" or "we" or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of those who subscribe to, or use, its products and services as well as those with whom it otherwise has dealings in connection with its business ("you" or "your"). This document sets out the manner in which Petroleum Edge collects, uses and stores personal data and information about you.

1. Data Protection Act 1998

Petroleum Edge is registered under the Data Protection Act 1998 and aims to comply with that Act in all its dealings with your personal information.

2. Petroleum Edge Ltd

Petroleum Edge Ltd is a joint venture ('JV') formed by Wood Mackenzie Ltd and CGG Services (UK) Ltd. Accordingly, the personal information we hold about you may be made available to either or both of our JV parent entities and all of their Group Companies. Some of these Group Companies are established or operate outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and accordingly sharing this information with those companies will involve us transferring your personal information outside the EEA. In this Policy "Group Companies" means our subsidiaries, our holding company and the subsidiaries of our holding company for each of the respective JV parent entities

3. Where We Store And Process Your Personal Information

The personal information held about you may be transferred by us, or one of our JV parent entities or one of their Group Companies, to third parties with whom we, or they, have contracted to provide to us storage or processing or other similar services. Some of these third parties may be outside the EEA. However such third party contractors shall be obliged only to use that personal information in accordance with our instructions and only as necessary to provide the relevant services to us.

We may collect the following information: Digital demographic information such as location, IP address, browser version and screen resolution.

4. How We Use Your Personal Information

4.1. Personal information about you may be used by Petroleum Edge, its JV parent entities and their Group Companies in the following ways:-

(a) to carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you or your employer and us;
(b) to contact you to provide you with information about the products and services we offer from time to time;
(If you wish to unsubscribe from receiving such information, you may do so at any time by notifying Petroleum Edge's Data Protection Manager at the email address set out in Section 13 of this Policy).
(c) if you have requested information by clicking on a "Register your Interest" button, to contact you to provide you with the information requested and to obtain your preferences for further contact between us;
(d) to contact you to provide you with invitations to conferences or other events or with information relating to us or our Group or our business, which we believe may be of interest to you;
(e) for the purpose of checking and confirming your password. Such information may include details of your operating system, browser version, mobile device, domain name and internet provider's address, and details of the website you were using in order to access Petroleum Edge's website;

4.2. Petroleum Edge gathers personal information about your usage of the Petroleum Edge website to enable it to prepare statistics on website usage. These statistics may be used by Petroleum Edge for the following purposes:-

(a) to enable Petroleum Edge to address issues, pertaining to client satisfaction and value for money;
(b) to enable Petroleum Edge to provide this information to client companies for their own purposes;
(c) to confirm that the level of use is within the boundaries permitted by its agreements with its subscribers/you; and
(d) to form management decisions regarding the future development of its websites and mobile apps.

5. Disclosure Of Your Personal Information

Petroleum Edge and its JV parent entities or one of their Group Companies will not disclose any of your personal information to third parties except as follows:

5.1. To third parties who are providing services to Petroleum Edge and who require to have such information for that purpose. This includes for example the third party service providers referred to in Section 3 of this Policy above.;

5.2. To the prospective buyer of any Petroleum Edge business or assets which we are considering selling;

5.3. To the purchaser of the assets of Petroleum Edge if those assets are sold; or

5.4. As may be required to comply with law or for the purposes of fraud protection or credit risk reduction.

6. Use Of Cookies

A "cookie" is software that can be sent to and stored in a user's PC by a website which the user visits and which collects information about the user. The cookies are simple text files which may be placed on your PC or mobile device when you first visit a public area of the Petroleum Edge website or page. 7. Security

Petroleum Edge has put in place appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the security of information it collects and stores about you, and will use its reasonable endeavours to protect your personal data from unauthorised disclosure and/or access including through the use of network and database security measures. However it cannot guarantee the security of any data it collects and stores.

8. Hyperlinks

Where Petroleum Edge's website provides links to other websites or apps, it is not responsible for such other websites or their privacy policies, and you should check the privacy policies of such other websites or apps if you have any concerns about them.

9. Right Of Access

Under the Data Protection Act 1998, you have the right to request, in writing, access to any personal information or details which Petroleum Edge holds about you. Petroleum Edge shall comply with your request, in accordance with its obligations under the Act, provided you have paid Petroleum Edge the necessary access fee and Petroleum Edge is satisfied as to your identity.

10. Legal Obligations

Petroleum Edge may have obligations under certain legislation to check the identity of users of its website and in such circumstances it may need to make enquiries and obtain information from you for that purpose. You confirm that all information you supply to Petroleum Edge will be accurate and you accept and agree that Petroleum Edge may pass on such information as it considers necessary to comply with any legal/reporting obligations it has or may have from time to time.

11. Changes To The Policy

Petroleum Edge may from time to time post changes to the Policy. In such instances, Petroleum Edge will post such changes on this page of its website and Petroleum Edge would invite you to review this Policy from time to time in order to keep abreast of any changes to it.

If at any time you believe that the personal information held by Petroleum Edge about you is incorrect or out of date, please provide Petroleum Edge with your correct details by accessing and correcting the personal data appearing on your User Profile page of Petroleum Edge's website and/or by contacting Petroleum Edge's Data Protection Manager at the email address set out in Section 13 of this Policy.
